Contract Value: £200,000

Completed: June 2013

Client: Canmoor

Description of Overall Project:

The 17 Storey 147,000 sq ft office located opposite Chiswick Park was recently updated by Canmoor prior to the building being sold in March 2014. Situated directly above Gunnersbury Tube Station, it is ideally placed within easy reach of the city, whilst also enjoying good road links via the North Circular and A4/M4.

Thames Contract undertook the refurbishment of the main front elevation and also return elevation, which formed stage 1 of the 4 stage project. Works included erecting a crash deck scaffold to the main Chiswick High Road elevation, and providing 2nr temporary cradles in order to access the façade. We removed all the existing cover cap and sent to be re-cycled, removing and re-using the existing pressure plate and installing new extruded rubberised gaskets. A new designed extruded mullion and transom cover caps were colour match Polyester Powder Coated and installed to the pressure plates.

Once the above element was completed, we undertook a full restoration clean to the existing PPC panels and re-fixed all of the existing cradle restraint eyes. The existing Brise Solei box sections were removed and exactly replicated as the old sections had severe Filiform corrosion and despite our best efforts, they could not be stripped and re-used.

All of Thames Contract’s works were carried out during office hours to the occupied building, without any disruption to the tenants or general public.
